Alexei Lukashev, has studied under Nobel Prize Winner and Academician Alexander Prokhorov at Moscow’s General Physics Institute (GPI), where he earned his Ph.D. in laser physics in 1992. He has 25+ year experience of innovations and advanced R&D in lasers and biotechnology; track record of new product development and launching innovative medical trials; a matured expert and a leader in diverse fields R&D projects and product development. Since 2000 he resides in San Diego, CA. Dr. Alexei Lukashev joined Stemedica Cell Technologies in 2007. In 2011 Dr. Lukashev initiated pre-clinical stem-cell research at Switzerland’s l’École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Subsequently, he was instrumental in securing a three-year grant from the Swiss Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) for a project on Alzheimer’s imaging (AIM) and stem-cell therapies. Before joining Stemedica he held research and product-development positions at Thermotrex, Trex Enterprises and Cymer, including developing lasers for hair removal, vascular treatment and skin resurfacing. Dr. Lukashev currently holds eight U.S. patents and has been published in more than 50 peer review journals and conference proceedings. He is a member of SPIE and ASLMS.
