AVI GOLDFARB – MARCH 4, 2019

Avi Goldfarb is the Rotman Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare, and Professor of Marketing, at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. Avi is also Chief Data Scientist at the Creative Destruction Lab, Senior Editor at Marketing Science, and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He also co-organized the Marketing Science-Federal Trade Commission Conference on Marketing and Consumer Protection. His work with Catherine Tucker on privacy has been referenced by the White House, the European Commission, and in US Congressional Testimony. He has published over 70 academic articles in a variety of outlets in marketing, statistics, law, computing, and economics. This research has been discussed in the Economist the New York Times, the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, and elsewhere. Along with Ajay Agrawal and Joshua Gans, Avi is the author of the international bestselling book Prediction Machines: The Simple Economics of Artificial Intelligence.
